Nuclear technology has been contributing to sustainable development in many countries for more than six decades, considering that sustainable development is leaned on three pillars: economical, social and environmental.
Nuclear Power Plants have been contributing to avoid a significant amount of GHG emissions for more than five decades around the world, besides contributing to energy supply security. Besides these important achievements, the nuclear technology has paramount applications in environmental control, medicine, industry and agriculture.
In this context, Brazilian Nuclear Energy Association – Aben will promote the sixth International Nuclear Atlantic Conference - INAC 2013, to be held in Recife, the capital city of the state of Pernambuco, in the Brazilian Northeast, on November 24 to 29, 2013. The theme of the event is The Benefits of Nuclear Technology for Social Inclusion, which intends to discuss the benefits of nuclear technology to society, economy and environment.
The Conference will comprise three independent, but complementary, technical meetings: The XVIII Meeting on Nuclear Reactor Physics and Thermal Hydraulics (ENFIR), the XI Meeting on Nuclear Applications (ENAN) and the III Meeting on Nuclear Industry (ENIN). Jointly, the fifth edition of the Junior Poster Technical Sessions will be organized for undergraduate students from a number of colleges and universities to share with the participants the relevant results achieved in their research work under the supervision of nuclear researchers from Brazilian Institutions.
Completing the one-week program, ExpoInac, the traditional technical and commercial exhibition, will run alongside the INAC 2013, offering the opportunity to network with the delegates, enhance relationships with existing customers and meet new ones, demonstrate products or services, lunch new products, and seek international partners forming new alliances.
